BOX JELLYFISH


These guys can kill a healthy fully grown human in less than two minutes, Usually found in northern Australia around Christmas time— exactly when you want to swim. They're called box jellyfish because they have four corners, as well as lots of trailing, stinging tentacles that can stretch more than two metres (6.4 feet), During November too April The Jellyfish come in closer to shore for breeding, and this is when humans get stung If you have been stung you will know because they say the pain is the worst in the world, outstipping everything else

An ounce of a box jellyfish's venom can kill up to 60 adult humans, and cause that death in less than 3 minutes.
There have been more than 5,000 recorded Box Jellyfish-related deaths since 1954.
In Australia, Box Jellyfish cause more deaths than crocodiles, sharks and snakes combined.
Box Jellyfish don't have gills or any form of breathing organ.
